Halloween

Halloween

Halloween is one of my all time favorite childhood memories.  It’s the one time of year where you can dress up and pretend to be someone you’re not and get free candy!  What’s better than that?  I still remember going to many haunted houses with my family and also haunted corn mazes as well as hayrides.  I also, still remember the days when Halloween fell on a school day and we would dress up in our costumes to go to school to take part in a parade.  We would do some fun activities the week of Halloween in school for example; we would make homemade decorations, popcorn hands and watch some spooky movies.  It was one of the most exciting times during my elementary school years.  The best part was when I use to come home from school and get ready to go out trick-or-treating with my sisters and friends in my same costume!  We would walk for hours and come home exhausted.  I would spill my candy out all over the floor and see what goodies I received.  My dad and mom would sort through my sisters and I candies.  I remember watching over their shoulders to see which candies they got rid of and hoped it wasn’t my favorite candies.  Afterwards, we would pick out a few candies to bring to school the next day for snack.  Even though I am older I still enjoy Halloween in different ways.  I now watch and experience the memories through my friend’s children and my baby cousins.  Seeing how excited they get and preparing for their treat-or-treating trip is just amazing to watch.  I also now go out to haunted houses with friends and with the little kids as well.  Nothing is better than watching new memories form and being a part of them.
